HOW TO HAVE ACTIVE KIDS WITH GOOD ATTITUDES!!

WE'VE ALL HEARD THE STATISTICS AND REPORTS:

>  Childhood obesity is rampant in America today.

>  Processed foods are everywhere.

>  Children spend hours in front of the TV, computer, and video games.

>  Budget cuts force schools to cancel art and music programs, as well as physical fitness classes.

>  There are higher cases of diabetes and cancer at early ages linked to chemicals in our food, toxins in our bodies, and lack of physical activity.

WHAT ARE WE DOING AS PARENTS?:

>  Do we, as adults, have healthy lifestyles that provide good examples for our kids?

>  Are we choosing “fast and easy” food over preparing healthy meals and snacks for our families?

>  Are we demanding what our kids should be provided and exposed to during the school day?

>  Are we choosing "electronic babysitters" over spending quality time with our kids and keeping them physically active and engaged with life?

WHAT SHOULD WE FOCUS ON?:

Our kids don’t know how to be healthy on their own.  It is our job, as parents, to teach our children and guide them towards foods and activities that will be good for them.  Let’s remember the other side of the statistics and reports:

The combination of physical fitness, healthy eating, and good sleep allows for better attention spans and learning development.

Physical movement ignites endorphins, which create better moods and attitudes.

Creative physical movement and activity leads to improved brain stimulation and better grades in school.

GUESS WHAT!
ROCKY MOUNTAIN MOVEMENT CAN MAKE IT A LITTLE EASIER FOR YOU!

This is exactly why we created FUNASTICS!

At Rocky Mountain Movement, we describe our kids FUNASTICS program as a combination of karate, dance, and gymnasticsBut, at a deeper level, our goal in creating this program is really focused on combining:  physical fitness, martial art character development, and FUN!

From the kids’ perspective, they have FUN!  From our perspective, we set goals and create activities to ensure that the kids:  physically move and exercise, become leaders, develop improved character traits and attitudes, establish discipline and routine, generate greater self-confidence, and develop a strong work ethic within themselves.

For example, watch this video:

The kids say:  “we’re playing a fun game to pass the ball around and make it to 10 without dropping it.”

The parents see:  they are physically moving and exercising; they are working as a team; they are working towards a goal; they are learning to pick up and try again if they fail the first time; they are working within the “rules” of the game and coming up with creative ways to win and succeed; etc.

This is so much more than just playtime!  And our RMM parents are definitely loving the results!

ROCKY MOUNTAIN MOVEMENT IS THE HEALTHY CHOICE FOR YOUR FAMILY:

One of the greatest statements I ever heard from a parent is this simple phrase:

"Martial arts is the best thing I've ever done for my kid!"
-- Dr. Joe Pepperidge, Pediatrician and Father

For the health of your kids, and for your family as a whole, we hope you join us and get involved.  Have your kids try our Funastics and martial arts programs.  As parents, get out of your own comfort zones and come try a kickboxing or kung fu class for yourself.  Or, calm your body and mind with some Tai Chi, instead of just zoning out in front of the TV with a bag of potato chips in your lap.

There is truly something here at Rocky Mountain Movement for everyone, because that is our goal:  HEALTH OF THE FAMILY: physical, mental, character, lifestyle!

So, families, come visit us! And, parents, please chime in with comments below!  We want to hear from you to make sure we continue to develop this Rocky Mountain Movement family together!
